Some dog breeds are snapped right up almost after they arrive at Battersea pet dogs home, others wait nearly three times as long.

Akitas, the large dogs favoured by the Japanese royal family, take the longest to become adopted. These big, clever dogs take some dedication and training.
Equally, taking on a Dogue de Bordeaux is obviously a big commitment – adults weigh typically 55-65kg and they resist 70cm tall.
It’s good to view that Staffies, the little terriers which has a big reputation, are reasonably prone to get adopted. But the average Staffie still waits just for over one month to discover a new home.
